After a test run at the Bobcat Bonanza, the AIA State Speech and Debate Advisory Committee overwhelmingly approved the use of computers in all forms of debate (including Congressional Debate) for the 2011 State Tournaments. The guidelines for use are below:

Arizona’s very own Elizabeth Clarke has been named the 2011 National Federation of High Schools Section Seven Speech, Debate, and Theater Educator of the Year. Beth is the coach of Brophy and serves as the FLA Vice President. She was nomonated by John Wolnisty at the FLA Convention last September. Section 7 covers Arizona, Utah, Hawaii, Nevada, and California. Congratulations Beth!
The docket for the 2011 NFL Qualifier is now posted. It is available on www.joyoftournaments.com/az in the NFL Qualifier invitation, and it is also available here. The AZ NFL Qualifier Congress will be held on March 4th at Glendale Community College.
The minutes for the last AIA State Speech and Debate Advisory Committee are posted on the “Meetings” page. Please note that these minutes are not yet approved by the SSDAC and are subject to amendment at our next meeting.
