Spring Coaches Meeting

We will have the first ASDCA Spring Coaches Meeting at Thunderbird High School on April 14th. Details and registration is available at http://www.joyoftournaments.com/az/springmtg/info.asp

We look forward to seeing everyone there to take care of our 2018-2019 calendar, our rule changes, and other assorted items.

ASDCA Spring Business Meeting

We are changing some things up.  For the 2018-2019 school year, we will have 2 separate meetings – a Spring meeting to handle rules, tournament schedules, host sites for the Trophy, Qualifier, and State tournaments, and other matters of pressing need; then this Fall, we will have a formal coaches convention featuring workshops, social events, and speakers.

The Spring Business Meeting will be held on April 14th.  Location and details to be confirmed shortly.

Judge Training

Do you have new judges?  Do you have parents whom you want to turn into judges?  Do your judges need some refreshers?  There are a few judge trainings available over the next month or so.

At the ASDCA convention, on September 9th at Brophy, there will be 2 trainings, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.  Register your judges for the trainings at www.joyoftournaments.com/az.

At the SWSDI Novice Tournament, held at Hamilton HS on September 23, there will be a judge training, and then opportunities for the new judges to practice their skills in a low-stress environment.

In addition, Meg Howell at Mountain View will host a judge training night.  Information will be posted here as soon as it is available.

Any other opportunities for judge training will be posted on this page.  Well-prepared judges make tournaments so much more rewarding for our competitors.

Thanks!

ASDCA Winter Trophy!

Winter Trophy is this weekend!  Big thank yous to Greenway High School and Arizona State University for hosting these events.  If you haven’t entered your judges yet, please do so.  Registration will close down this afternoon.  See you this Friday!

Judge Training Opportunities

There are a couple of judge training opportunities available coming up. All are welcome. Please send your judges so that they may be ready for the upcoming season.

On September 13, there will be a judge training at Mountain View High School. It will be in room 725, at 6:30 PM.

On September 21, Tempe Preparatory Academy will host a training at 6:30 PM.

In addition, the SWSDI Novice tournament will hold a judge training session at the start of round 1 for all new judges.

We want to have as many trained judges as possible.
